EPISCOPAL CHARITIES PRIVACY POLICY

Episcopal Charities of the Diocese of New York (“Episcopal Charities”) is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors. We are grateful for your support and acknowledge the crucial role you play in helping us continue our work.  As part of our commitment to safeguarding your privacy we have adopted this privacy policy.

Episcopal Charites collects data in conjunction with donations, use of our website and email communication.  Episcopal Charities is the sole owner of any information we collect.  The types of personally identifiable information that may be collected include:

  • Contact information: name, organization/company, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, mobile number and fax number

  • Donation information: amounts donated, dates of donation, method of payment, and linkage to particular campaigns

  • Miscellaneous: information about your interests in the programs we support, your comments and requests

We do not sell, share, rent, trade, or transfer your information to others. Episcopal Charities will only disclose information we maintain if required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena.

Episcopal Charities uses the information we collect to maintain records of donations for our financial statements, send acknowledgements of donations, and send newsletters, reports, notices, and direct mail solicitations for support.  Our third-party mail service is obligated to treat our lists with confidentiality and is strictly prohibited from transferring them elsewhere. We do list the names of individuals, corporations and foundations in our annual report and event programs unless anonymity has been requested. Email communication you receive from Episcopal Charities may allow us to receive a confirmation that you have opened the email.

Episcopal Charities stores all collected electronic data in a password-protected database.  High grade encryption processing is used to protect credit card payment information. Although Episcopal Charities takes appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, security measures may not prevent all losses and Episcopal Charities is not responsible for any damages or liabilities related to such security failures.

Episcopal Charities collects information from users and visitors to our web site for the sole purpose of analyzing visitor interests, administering the site, tracking movement, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use, however, the IP addresses collected are never linked to personally identifiable information.

There are hyperlinks on www.episcopalcharities-newyork.org to other websites, which are not under the control of Episcopal Charities. These links are provided as a service to our visitors and users and for your reference only. Episcopal Charities is not responsible for the privacy practices of web sites hyperlinked or listed as resources on its site. It is your responsibility to review the privacy policy and user conditions of any other web site.

Correcting, changing or removing your name from our Mailing List:  Should you wish to correct or change the information we have on file or be removed from our mailing list or email list, please contact us at episcopalcharities@dioceseny.org with your name and contact information or call us at 212-316-7575 or click the unsubscribe link in the email.
