WHAT IS #GivingTuesday?
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, Episcopal Charities, other non-profits, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
This #GivingTuesday, Episcopal Charities asks that you #GiveTime. We’ve organized multiple opportunities over this Advent season for our supporters to give back by volunteering at programs we support. On Saturdays December 2nd and 9th, you can help feed the hungry by joining a brown bag program in Harlem, or by serving at a soup kitchen on the Upper West Side. On Saturday, December 16th, you can join in a holiday celebration and help tutor low income students near Union Square. And on Thursday, December 21st, you can serve at the only regularly open soup kitchen in the Westchester Square neighborhood in the Bronx.

Not able to join us in Manhattan this holiday season? We encourage you to read about programs throughout the diocese who could use volunteers. Check out volunteer opportunities in Staten Island, Region II, and the Mid-Hudson here.
