 The Church of SS John, Paul & Clement, Mount Vernon 126 S. Ninth Ave., Mount Vernon, NY 10551
The Sts John, Paul and Clement food pantry was opened in 1982 to give help to those in need, specifically to alleviate hunger by distributing food parcels to the impoverished of Mt. Vernon and its environs. In 2008 the pantry became client-choice, where guests choose items they want rather than receiving a bag of predetermined items. In 2011 the program distributed approximately 6,000 food packages.
