Started in 2008, the Brown Bag Lunch/Food Pantry program seeks to reach out to the community, manifesting the compassion of Christ, by supplementing the basic need for food to anyone seeking assistance. The program consists of weekly lunches as well as a choice food pantry where guests can choose what they need. In addition, St. Thomas sponsors a community meal at 5:30 pm on the second Saturday of each month, to which everyone is welcome. In 2011 the program provided over 5,300 dinners and lunches.
