St. Mary's Church, West Harlem
Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen 

Founded in 1983 as a soup kitchen, the program was converted into a food pantry to meet community needs. In 2009 the program distributed 25,000 packages of food. The parish has also begun a Street Homeless Outreach program, preparing bagged meals each Saturday and going into the community with a medical student to deliver the meals and care to any homeless individuals, and working with Ecclesia ministries in Marcus Garvey Park to serve Sunday afternoon meals twice a month.
