Open Space 

The mission of Open Space is to awaken a sense of self worth in teen mothers and their children through an arts and literacy-based program. Activities offered range from watercolor painting to ethnic cooking, dance and drumming to scrapbook making, yoga to indoor gardening. There is also a weekly literacy component, helping the women read to their children. Open Space gives the mothers new books in both English and Spanish, helping them build upon their skills and creating a library at home. During the summer months, the program offers field trips, giving the women and their children a chance to see the larger world.
