San Andres' Summer Program offers 35 neighborhood children enriched play, vocal and instrumental music classes, arts, folkloric dance, crafts, and literacy and computer literacy programming, as well as field trips to experience lawn sports, gardening, and theatre and cooking classes. This year swimming classes will be added, in collaboration with Sarah Lawrence College. Overall the program strives to provide affordable summer programming for the children of southwest Yonkers, the majority of whom come from Latino families with limited incomes.
