San Andres' After School Program began in the early 1980s and strives to provide an affordable, safe, nurturing, and multicultural environment for children. The program provides homework help to children of Hispanic/Latino/immigrant families in the neighborhood, with a special focus on literacy, math, and reading. In addition, the staff act as liaisons between the school and parents, many of whom do not speak English. In 2009-10 there are 32 children enrolled.
